A New Career and Planner of the Year
After several years in retail and business management, Dave accepted a training internship with IDS Financial Services, one of the pioneers of financial planning in the United States. IDS is now known as Ameriprise. In 1993, he earned the Rookie Planner of the Year designation after becoming a Registered Securities Representative (Series 7 & 63) along with becoming a licensed Life & Health Insurance Agent.
Two-Time Honors Recipient
Seeking to expand his training, Dave accepted a position with CIGNA Financial Advisors, an industry leader in advanced estate and business planning for closely-held small business owners. CIGNA Financial Advisors was eventually purchased by Lincoln Financial Group and is now a division of Lincoln Financial Advisors. He excelled quickly in his new role by achieving two of four CIGNA Honors levels in less than a year.
Founder, President and OSJ
After the complex training he received, Dave formed Beacon Management Group, an independent financial planning company, so he could offer clients the full spectrum of financial products available rather than the limited proprietary portfolios offered through companies like IDS or CIGNA.After Dave became a Registered Securities Principal (Series 24) in 1997, Beacon Management Group became an Office of Supervisory Jurisdiction (OSJ) for Questar Capital, with responsibilities including the supervision, training, and audits of Registered Representatives within the region.
A New Quest and Radio Show Host
After years of building a clientele of small business owners in Michigan, Dave decided to liquidated his ownership interest in Beacon Management Group, so he, his wife, and two children could live near his family in Arizona. He quickly formed Cornerstone Consulting, helping small business owners with financial and estate planning, along with productivity, systems analysis and marketing. In 2000, Dave was asked to host a weekly call-in radio program. Cornerstone Central was born on KVOI — The Voice, focusing on finances and the concerns of small business owners.
Expanding to Ministry
After two very turbulent years — personally and in business, Dave became an ordained minister and formed Master’s Plan Church, ministering specifically to the homeless and at-risk addicts of South Tucson.Leaning on his college major in Psychology, he expanded the ministry in 2005 to create Master’s Home, a series of halfway houses that offered at-risk addicts and ex-convicts a sober environment to productively re-enter society.
In an effort to shed the often negative stigma of being a consultant and to more clearly define the scope of services provided, Cornerstone Consulting was rebranded OneSource Business & Financial Management.
Published Author and Ministry Makeover
Written in 2009 and published in 2010, Dave’s first book These Things Must Happen was publicly released by Tate Publishing.Master’s Plan Church was reorganized as OneSource Ministries in 2011, as the focus of the ministry transitioned from ministry to the homeless to more of an end-times perspective due to the culmination of rapidly changing world events.
Registered Investment Advisor and Another Book
Ongoing public sentiment, along with stringent regulatory changes in both the securities and insurance fields motivated Dave to become a Register Investment Advisor (Series 65) while maintaining his insurance licenses. As a result, OneSource Business & Financial Management was reorganized as OneSource Financial Advisors, so clients seeking stocks, bonds, mutual funds, exchange traded funds, etc. could seek advice without the fear of recommendations being influence by commissions. At the end of 2015, Dave published his second book, I AM One.
Israel in the Middle and OneSource Media
In the Fall of 2017, Dave published his third book, Israel in the Middle. In the beginning of 2018, OneSource Ministries expanded to include an online news and media site, OneSource Media.
